SMASH PRESENTS PROFIT SHARING SURF FILM FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK. NOW OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
NEW YORK, NY: SMASH Productions is proud to announce its first edition surf film festival, to take place July 18-21st, 2013 in New York. The SMASH Surf Film / Art / Festival is a four-day event that will span across the New York area, from NYC to Long Beach, Montauk and Rockaway Beach. The SMASH Film Festival is a profit-sharing surf film festival for independent filmmakers. Profits from screenings will be shared with each filmmaker, allowing an opportunity for directors and producers to offset some of the costs of producing and promoting their films. Submissions are now open for feature length films (30 min or more) with no entry fee until May 20th, 2013. Rules & guidelines can be found at: /rules/
The SMASH Surf Film / Art / Festival will be a carefully curated collection of films, art, and cultural events centered around the thriving surf community of the New York area.
“We are really excited to organize a surf film festival that not only showcases these talented filmmaker and their films, but benefits them as well,” says SMASH Productions Director Tyler Breuer. “Over the past few years, we’ve been able to bring a lot of culturally significant and quality events to the New York surfing community and I’m proud that we’ll be able to do that again with this project,” Breuer continued. “Throughout the years we’ve gained a reputation for authenticity and stoke! This event will build on that.”
SMASH’s aim is to bring together surfers both far and near to celebrate the contemporary and historically significant aspects of surf culture.
